David Beckham is breaking his silence after his son, Brooklyn Beckham, unleashed a series of Instagram Stories earlier this week that accused his parents of “trying to endlessly ruin” his relationship with his wife, among other things.
In the posts, Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of the former soccer legend and his wife Victoria Beckham, also said his parents were forcefully trying to control “narratives in the press about our family.”
Appearing Tuesday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” David Beckham, now a co-owner of Inter Miami CF in MLS, spoke about how “dangerous” social media can be in the wake of his son’s posts.
“I’ve always spoke about social media and the power of social media, for the good and for the bad,” he said. “The bad, we’ve talked about, what kids can access these days and it can be dangerous. But what I’ve found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons.”
Telling the show’s panel of hosts that he’s used his social media platform to support UNICEF, he continued, “It’s been the biggest tool to make people aware of what’s going on around the world for children, and I’ve tried to do the same.”

“They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn. So, that’s what I try to teach my kids,” he added. “You have to sometimes let them make those mistakes.”
All of this follows months of fan speculation about a Beckham family feud.
“I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” Brooklyn Beckham wrote in a series of posts on Instagram. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
Brooklyn Beckham also alleged in the posts that his family has unleashed “endless attacks” on him and “consistently disrespected” his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. He also accused his mom of “hijacking” his first dance with Nicola during their 2022 wedding ceremony.
Brooklyn Beckham’s post also came after he reportedly skipped his dad’s multiple 50th-birthday celebrations and missed the premiere of his mom’s Netflix documentary.
