Nikki Glaser Trashes CBS News For Pulling ’60 Minutes’ Episode

Nikki Glaser taunted CBS for its controversial decision to shelve a “60 Minutes” investigation while appearing on the very same network.

During a biting opening monologue at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, the comic slammed the network for abruptly pulling the plug on an investigation into abuse at the notorious Salvadorian prison where hundreds of Venezuelan men were unlawfully deported to last year.

First joking how President Donald Trump’s Justice Department deserved the best editing honor for its extensive redactions to Jeffrey Epstein-related documents released to the public last month, Glaser then took a dig at CBS’ credibility.

“The award for most editing goes to CBS News,” she smirked. “Yes. CBS News: America’s newest place to ‘See B.S. News.’”

CBS’ recently-appointed head of news, Bari Weiss, has come under fire for ordering the network to hold the “60 Minutes” episode, which she claimed wasn’t “ready” to air without getting Trump administration officials’ perspective on the record.

The “60 Minutes” journalist who reported the piece, Sharyn Alfonsi, shot back, accusing Weiss of tabling the story for political reasons, noting how White House officials declined requests to respond to allegations in the piece.

“If the administration’s refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, we have effectively handed them a ‘kill switch’ for any reporting they find inconvenient.”
