Stephen Colbert Trolls Melania Trump With 1 Epic Fact-Check

“Now, obviously, he’s one of the richest men in the world. That’s chump change to Bezos himself,” Colbert said. “But it might have helped the 16,000 people that Amazon announced they were firing yesterday.”

The company announced the layoffs earlier this week, which The New York Times reported was meant to “trim bureaucracy and free up money for plans to spend heavily on artificial intelligence.”

But as Amazon workers lose their jobs, the company is spending millions to promote the movie ― and the first lady herself has been doing interviews with friendly right-wing media outlets.

“What I wanted to do is to put the product, film, into the theaters,” the first lady told Fox Business.

She called her movie a “very cinematic product,” adding: “People will see it, will see fashion.”

“All accurate,” Colbert said. “Except for the part where people will see it.”

The Wrap reported that the documentary is expected to take in just $3 million this weekend.
