Actor Timothy Busfield has been accused of another child sex abuse allegation just 24 hours after he turned himself in to authorities in New Mexico to face two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse.
On Wednesday in a pretrial motion, authorities say a man told law enforcement that the 68-year-old Busfield had sexually abused the man’s daughter “several years ago” in Sacramento, California, according to People.
The girl, who was 16 at the time of the alleged assault, met Busfield while auditioning for the B Street Theatre, which he founded in the city in 1986.
The 16-year-old said that the actor “kissed her and put his hands down her pants and touched her privates,” according to the motion.
When the family confronted Busfield, he begged them not to report the incident to law enforcement if he got therapy, the motion states, according to Deadline. The father, a therapist, reportedly agreed at the time that that was the best plan of action.
Busfield, the husband of actor Melissa Gilbert, is behind bars in Albuquerque for charges stemming from allegations that he inappropriately touched two young boys on the set of the TV series “The Cleaning Lady,” which he was directing.
When authorities interviewed Busfield about the accusations last fall, he reportedly suggested that the boys’ mom simply wanted revenge for her kids being replaced on the Fox TV show.
According to a warrant obtained by Deadline, Busfield claimed that “Cleaning Lady” lead Elodie Yung told him in late 2024 that the mother of the two boys “wanted revenge, and I’m going to get my revenge on Tim Busfield for not bringing her kids back for the final season.”
Busfield also told authorities “The Cleaning Lady” set was a playful environment and that he probably tickled the two boys.
Busfield released a video, obtained by TMZ, saying the allegations are “all lies and I did not do anything to those little boys and I’m gonna fight it.”
I’m gonna fight it with a great team, and I’m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and all lies.”
Back in 1996, a Minneapolis law firm brought accusations against Busfield of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl who worked as an extra on the 1994 movie “Little Big League.”
Busfield settled a potential suit with the girl for an undisclosed amount. He later sued the law firm that handled her case for defamation, only to be ordered to pay that firm $150,000 in damages, according to People.
