Dax Shepard Will Pay For Daughter To Freeze Her Eggs

Dax Shepard is ready to support his daughter Delta’s dream of becoming a mother, though she’s still years away from doing so.

On Monday’s episode of his “Armchair Expert” podcast, Shepard said he and Delta, 11, have already discussed ways to ensure she’ll be able to have children in the future.

“She’s saying she wants to have a baby, and I said, ‘When do you think you’ll have your first child? When you turn 18?’ I want to be supportive of whatever,” the actor recalled. “I don’t want to plant any seeds that I’d be judgmental or whatever.”

When Delta asked him for a suggestion, Shepard said he guessed she’d want to welcome a child between the ages of 35 and 45.

“I said, ‘If you want to, we’ll freeze your eggs when you’re 18. I’ll pay for you to get your eggs frozen so you don’t have to think about that,’” Shepard explained.

After “acknowledging all luck and privilege” that comes with the support of wealthy parents, he said Delta would likely “be wrestling with the same thing every woman is” in terms of balancing her career and her personal life.

As of right now, however, “she’s thinking mid-20s” for when she’d like to become a mom, he added.

In addition to Delta, Shepard also shares daughter Lincoln, 12, with wife Kristen Bell.

It isn’t the first time that Shepard has broached the subject of pregnancy and procreation with Delta. In a 2025 episode of “Armchair Expert,” he recalled his daughter discussing Sabrina Carpenter’s 2024 song “Juno,” which shares its title with the 2007 movie starring Michael Cera and Elliot Page.

“She goes, ‘Yeah, it’s a story about a girl who gets pregnant,’” he quipped. “I go, ‘That’s a little nasty.’ And she goes, ‘What’s nasty about wanting to have a baby with somebody?’”

Both Bell and Shepard have raised eyebrows with their parenting anecdotes in the past. In 2023, Bell revealed that at least one of her daughters had “ordered nonalcoholic beers at restaurants,” saying the child was reminded of Shepard, who is in recovery from alcohol addiction.

“He likes nonalcoholic beer, so he’d pop one open ― he’d have her on his chest ― and we’d walk and look at the sunset,” she explained on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” at the time. “So as a baby, she was pawing at it, and sometimes she would suck on the rim of it.”
