Stephen Colbert said Thursday that the current “message from this administration is clear” as he slammed the Trump White House’s attempts to spin the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis.
“Only they determine the truth, and when their forces come to your city, obey or die,” Colbert said, suggesting that is the administration’s underlying message.
“And if you die, you clearly didn’t obey,” he added.
Colbert then issued a stark warning:
“This should be an alarm bell for the entire country, whether you live in a red state or a blue state, because if we let this go on regardless of who your state voted for, one day you will have unaccountable armed agents acting with impunity in your town.”
“So, peacefully and nonviolently, let your leaders know you don’t want that,” he added.
