Seth Meyers Unmasks Trump World’s Hypocrisy Following ICE Shooting

Late Night” host Seth Meyers on Thursday called out the Donald Trump administration for pushing claims that a federal immigration agent shooting and killing Renee Nicole Good was in response to “an act of domestic terrorism.”

“A 37-year-old mother in a Honda Pilot was shot dead on a residential street and they’re calling her a terrorist,” Meyers said of the Minneapolis resident who reportedly dropped off her 6-year-old son at school before encountering federal agents.

“The same people who called those who stormed a federal building ‘heroes,’ the same people who supported pardoning those who beat Capitol Police officers while ignoring their orders to stop are telling us that a woman shot dead in her own car in her own community is a domestic terrorist.”

He continued, “And when they do that, they’re also telling us who they are and it it is our job to never forget what they’ve told us.”

The host’s comments refer to Trump’s efforts to paint those involved in the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, attack as “patriots” and his blanket pardons of hundreds of rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol that day.

The comedian noted the president “lied from the jump” about his deportation agenda by claiming that “criminals,” “murderers” and “drug dealers” would be the focus of such efforts.

Instead, the administration has blanked America with federal immigration agents who have disrupted neighborhoods, schools and businesses, Meyers noted.

He argued that the administration knows that the deadly shooting in Minneapolis is “indefensible, which is why they have to lie about it.”
