Leonardo DiCaprio displayed some award-winning animation — in his body language, at least — during the 2026 Golden Globes Sunday night.
The somewhat elusive actor was caught on camera during a commercial break having a very lively conversation with someone else at his table.

“Something has activated Leonardo DiCaprio,” the New York Times’ Kyle Buchanan captioned the footage on X, which has since gone viral.
In the clip, the Oscar winner can be seen waving around his finger and making quite dramatic facial expressions.
It’s unclear what DiCaprio was talking about in the footage. Some on X have speculated that he was talking about K-pop with his “One Battle After Another” co-star Chase Infiniti.
Despite what the “Titanic” star was yapping about, social media users were pretty stunned to see DiCaprio, who is normally very composed, completely let loose.
“I forget he has a personality sometimes,” one user said.
“Oh this diva … he has so much personality off screen,” said another user.
“There’s [a] whole entire side of Leo that’s unexplored and that’s very sad lol,” another user echoed.
“Maybe ‘Leonardo DiCaprio’ has been the real performance all along,” another joked.
“We gotta stop making fun of him for dating 25 year olds and let him queen out,” said another user.
It’s easy to understand why social media users reacted this way — and Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser summed up the reason pretty perfectly in her opening monologue at the ceremony Sunday night.
After cracking a pretty stale joke about how the “Wolf of Wall Street” alum has a tendency to date women much younger than him, Glaser immediately apologized for making the low-hanging quip.
“I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s cheap,” the comedian admitted. “I tried not to, but like, we don’t know anything else about you, man. Like, there’s nothing else. Like, open up! I’m serious! I looked!”
Glaser went on to say the “most in-depth” interview she could find about DiCaprio was in “Teen Beat magazine in 1991.”
“Is your favorite food still pasta, pasta, and more pasta?” Glaser asked DiCaprio as he excitedly nodded and gave a thumbs-up from the audience.
