“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Thursday described a bizarre scene at President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, which recently hosted a gala event for the American Humane Society.
“I’m sure you’re thinking there’s gonna be cute doggy decorations, maybe a poodle-shaped cake,” Colbert said, before adding a truly unexpected sight at the event: “sexualized human-dog hybrids in ball gowns.”
Colbert rolled footage of the event, which featured costumed dancers wearing dog heads.
“I don’t remember smoking peyote in a PetSmart today,” Colbert cracked.
Trump, he said, arrived late to the party.
“That’s gotta be confusing for someone who already has such a tenuous grasp on reality,” he said, then broke out his impression of the president taking in the scene.
“Holy shit, what is happening here?” he said. “Wow! They really upped the challenge on these cognitive tests.”
