It’s pretty likely you woke up today and thought: Damn, it’s cold. We’re in the thick of winter — as if you couldn’t tell from this week’s below-freezing temps — and it’s so cold that even Florida is getting some dusting. With many parts of the nation prepping for some serious snowfall this weekend, it might be a good idea to finally invest in a snow blower.
We found a snow blower that’s on mega-sale right now at a whopping 50% off, and reviewers swear it’ll be “saving my back this winter,” making manual shoveling a thing of the past. This thing may be compact and corded, but it folds down to save space in your garage or driveway, and on its max output, it could actually throw snow as far as 33 feet away. That’s a nifty way to clear those sidewalks and driveways!
Whether it’s the day after snowfall or time to tidy up a thick dusting, this thrower is an easy way to clear driveways, sidewalks and more.
This snow thrower can clear a path as wide as 18 inches, with a clearing depth of 8 inches. The brand also says it can toss snow as far as 33 feet away (notwithstanding neighbors), and while reviewers haven’t needed that much, they do vouch for it tossing snow “a good distance.” The machine is also designed to move up to 600 pounds per minute!
There’s a switch right at the handlebar you can toggle to set your throw height, and its chute can rotate 180 degrees, so you can toss the snow in any direction. The machine also has seven LED headlights on it, just in case you need to clear the way in dim lighting.
Yes, it’s corded. But that also means more power, so many reviewers don’t mind.
Because it’s not a buzzy cordless electric model, this snow thrower is much more powerful. The power cord makes it more capable of clearing with minimal effort, while also ditching the need for batteries or the need to warm the machine enough to give it a start. That also means no oil or gas!
While more power can also feel intimidating, many reviewers say it’s still very easy to maneuver and use. “I finished my driveway and three sidewalks quickly and with ease,” reports one reviewer. “It’s easy for me to use (I’m a senior), and it’s compact and quick. The blower cleaned all the snow down to the cement.”
If you’re running out of storage for more outdoor equipment, don’t worry: this guy also folds up. The handle can fold down and inward, compressing down in size to under 39 inches in height.
If you’ve got snowfall on the horizon, this thrower should help do the job of clearing it. Grab it while it’s 50% off today, and take a look below to see what reviewers have to say about it.
“Purchased this unit for the power, light weight and compact storage. Used on drifting 3 inch snowfall and it performed perfectly. A good 12 gauge outdoor extension cord will assure proper motor operation for longer distances. Not sure of long term life but seems to be built well and should last if not abused. Would recommend keeping in mind maneuvering the cord during use. Great addition to winter arsenal for snow before pulling out the gas powered snow blower.” — Dave
“I live in an Apt with a parking space and this electric snow blower saved me after a heavy snowfall. It throws snow up to 33 feet clears 18 inches wide and has bright LED lights for early morning use. No gas no oil just plug in and go. Quite powerful and easy to push. Perfect for students in snowy areas who rent and cannot use gas blowers. Seems durable with a reasonable noise. Fully functional battery-less option!” — Manoo
“For $80 this thing is a steal! It had very little assembly upon arrival and was easy to put together overall.
It’s a corded snow blower so it has plenty of power. It’s not too big and easy to maneuver. I’m not sure that it blows snow 33 ft but it does have a good distance – although really I just need it off the sidewalk and driveway! It’s SO much nicer to use this than the gas powered ones that are so horribly loud and smelly.
I’m not under any delusions that this thing is replacing the bigger blowers, but my plan is to whip this baby out when the snow gets up to like half a foot or so and clear, less if it’s very wet. Do it bit by bit and save myself a lot of headache. my property does not have gentle slopes so getting heavier machinery out to my driveway and sidewalk involves a LOT Of almost impossible lifting. So I’m very grateful for an inexpensive second option.
The blower seems durable enough, the chute is kind of hard to move so I try to do it carefully to avoid breaking it but it seems pretty strong. it’s very functional against light and fluffy snow for sure, struggles on packed snow a bit but unless it’s iced over it can usually make it through!” — Amazon Reviewer“Haven’t had a chance to use this yet as there isn’t any snow to use it on, so I will slant this review to the quality of the unit. . It seems to be well made, the majority of the unit is made out of plastic but a good quality made plastic. The handle is metal and it seems like it will last awhile. The snow collector( no better way to describe it) is made of thick quality plastic and is very well made along with the shut. Even though it is corded, it will work just as good as a battery pack, as a matter of fact I like the corded version much better due to the fact it has continuous power, especially if you have a large area to remove. Just make sure you get a polarized cord and a long one to do your area.” — Review
