Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday made a saucy comparison to spotlight President Donald Trump’s falling popularity for his immigration crackdown. (Watch the video below.)
The “Tonight Show” host pointed to a Reuters/Ipsos poll indicating that his approval rating on that front sank to 39%.
“I’m not saying it’s bad but ‘Heated Rivalry’ has a higher approval rating at the Vatican,” Fallon joked.
“Heated Rivalry,” a hit streamer on HBO Max, features two pro hockey players steaming up the screen in a gay romance.

Trump has appeared to back down a bit as the outrage grew in Minneapolis after the second dubious shooting death of a protester by federal officers. Trump said this week he was sending White House border czar Tom Homan to the city to oversee Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and Border Patrol agents, whom the president deployed to round up migrants. Trump also noted productive phone calls with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
