Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino’s departure from Minneapolis — following two fatal shootings by federal officers in the city — was framed by some Trump administration officials as not a demotion.
But on Tuesday, “The Daily Show” host Desi Lydic argued otherwise.
A “clear, definite sign that Trump has lost his confidence in Bovino,” she said, was reports that the Department of Homeland Security had cut Bovino off from accessing his social media accounts.
“Oh, he’s toast,” she said.
“This administration practically runs on shitposting, so there’s no greater punishment to them than telling someone, ‘Turn in your badge and your dank memes,’” Lydic added. “I’m just kidding, they don’t have badges.”
